Fossa Hotels & Information

Fossa is a townland about five miles outside Killarney. It borders on the main lake which can be accessed at two points.

In summer a local boatman carries those interested across the lake from the pier at The Europe Hotel to O'Sullivans Cascade in Tomies wood. There is a natural pool there for swimming under the waterfall. Be warned that the water is very cold.

Fossa is home to the world-famous Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. A drive down to the clubhouse will open up incredible views of Lough Leane and the mountains. The championship Killeen Course reopened in 2006 after a major upgrade.
